Safetylyne is thrilled to be a contributor to construction of the world-leading water ramp at the Sleeman Sports Complex Winter Olympics training facility in Queensland. The facility is the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and features different-sized ramps to allow athletes to train and progress year-round at individual levels. The two key products that make up the Sleeman project are polycarbonate balustrade and a secondary support structure.
Safetylyne was chosen for the project because of their proven work methods, technical aptitude, and can-do approach to provide the Design and Construct for a high impact balustrade for the 33m tall ski jump - critical for the support and safety of the athletes training at the facility. When the client struggled to move beyond the concept drawings, Safetylyne stepped in to assist with their design program. The resulting balustrade design was highly customized and a particularly difficult install, which required the design and construction of unique structures just to enable the installation.
By creating an unconventional fixing method, Safetylyne persevered and provided the client with design completion, design certification, delivery, and an incident-free installation – while at the same time working around other trades on the structure and still delivering the project on schedule.
Sleeman Water Ramp is a perfect example of how Safetylyne’s collective innovation provides high-quality customised safety solutions, when they matter most. If you’re a contracts administrator that has an access problem, Safetylyne has a solution for you.
